A sack hook
Long term residents of Market Lavington may well remember Theresa Gale, who lived on The Spring and was often to be seen cycling around the village. (See Theresa Gale remembers.) She outlived her husband, Bruce. We have A World War 2 gas mask, which belonged to him, in the museum.
We also have this item which had belonged to Bruce Gale.
Unlike a similar looking item, which turned out to be A timber dog, this one really is a sack hook. It dates from the early 20th century but our records do not inform us of what Bruce Gale used it for.
