Another grater

At Market Lavington Museum, we have a wide range of kitchenware from past eras. Much of it is out on display in the museum kitchen, with its cooking range and brick floor. We have already seen a grater from the 1920s in This might grate, but we have another one, dating from the early twentieth century.

Modern graters are usually made of stainless steel and have a shinier appearance. This one, is three dimensional, so can be stood down on the kitchen table. Its holes are quite small and would have grated cheese very finely.

The two pouch like appendages on the sides are even finer graters, presumably for nutmeg.
