Another WWI postcard

We met Trooper Fred Kellaway in our last blog post. Unfortunately, by 1917, he was in a war hospital in Sheffield. Our records do not give any information on what had happened to him. He received this postcard whilst in ward 13a at Wharncliffe War Hospital .

Russia was in the triple alliance with France and Britain during this war and the man’s attire appears to be an amalgam of British and Russian elements.

No first name terms here. The correspondent informed Kellaway that he had arrived home and would return to depot on Saturday.

We have a couple more of Fred Kelloway’s cards to share with you later.
