Market Lavington Museum

Guide Badges and Certificates

There continue to be new items arriving at the museum – items of historic and social interest. Just yesterday a small package arrived containing Girl Guide badges and certificates earned by a Market Lavington girl more than 60 years ago. The young lady concerned – still very much alive – lived at Homestead Farm. This year we had already planned a display about this farm and its people so now we have just a little more to include in the display.

From the collection, I have selected the ‘needlewomen’ badge and certificate for this posting. I have blurred the name on the certificate because the person concerned is still alive.
