As Market Lavington grew in the 1960s, Peter Francis, our professional photographer, did his best to keep a record of the changes. So when bungalows were built just off Stobberts Road, behind the old Congregational Chapel, Peter went there to snap a photo.
These bungalows were built in the ‘no chimney’ era. The area looked stark when this photo was taken (believed to be 1985) but of course the gardens all look more mature now.
Market Lavington grew considerably from the 1960s with developments such as Southcliffe, Fiddington, Bouverie Drive and Canada Rise before the even bigger Grove Farm Estate.
