Call in the Clown
In a month’s time it will be our Museum Miscellany so today we are featuring another of our wonderful magic lantern slides, some of which will be shown at the Miscellany.
Our projector and slides date from about 1860 and were the property of Dr Charles Hitchcock who owned and ran the Fiddington Asylum at that time. Later, the equipment was passed to his relatives, the Williams family of Easterton and they passed them to the museum earlier this year. The show, on 17th September at 7.30pm in the Community Hall may be their first showing for some 90 years. Don’t miss it!
Tickets for the show cost £5 to include food produced from local recipes we have in the museum so you can expect some lovely traditional items such as Lucretia Gye’s potato cakes, Walter James fruit cake or Grandma Doubleday’s potted meat.
